2012 Summer Intensive
Overview
Collage's Summer Intensive was designed specifically for beginner, intermediate and advanced students to improve classical ballet and contemporary dance techniques, as well as improve artistry and performance skills. Students, regardless of their ability level, will be immersed in a first-rate, rigorous, pre-professional environment. The Intensive challenges students to experience performing arts beyond physical and technical expression and to explore their emotional and spiritual selves. Our faculty is comprised of some of the industry’s leading professional dance artists. They have danced professionally on Broadway and with internationally acclaimed companies including The Royal Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem and San Francisco Ballet.
The ultimate goal of the Intensive is to educate students about the craft of dance and performance, inspire students to develop an affinity towards art and culture, encourage students to express themselves with confidence, and instill discipline as an effective tool to use in all facets of their daily lives.
The Curriculum
Classes for the 2012 Summer Intensive include: Ballet, Pointe, Men’s Technique, Partnering, Broadway, Modern, Jazz, Theatre Techniques, Nutrition and Yoga. Collage dance Collective’s teaching philosophy is to create dancers that are versatile and well-rounded, pushing them to experience dance beyond technical expression.
